We were proud to become the official Sustainable Design Partner for WOMAD 2026.
It marked a first for Little Green Rooms. Until now, every room we’ve built has found its home in someone’s garden or our Bristol showroom. This was the first time we’d taken our spaces somewhere entirely different: into the heart of a festival.
We created the Little Green Rooms WiFi Garden as a quiet corner amongst the hustle and bustle of the festival. A place to pause, recharge and reconnect.
Two Little Green Rooms sat amongst leafy planting, linked by a large deck and a stretch tent that cast much-needed shade throughout the day. Bean bags nestled between the fans and the foliage invited people to stay a little longer, whether they were escaping the midday sun, catching up with friends, or emails.
Sitting quietly in a corner, you could observe a common pattern as people walked into the space:
People would wander in, curious. What is this?
Some would pick up a brochure. Others would stop for a chat with the team. Almost everyone asked the same question.
“Free WiFi… but what’s the catch?”
There wasn’t one.
We simply wanted to offer festival-goers a comfortable place to pause, catch up with the outside world and experience a Little Green Room for themselves.
People would tentatively sit down to check a message or connect to the WiFi. Before you know it, they’d be taking a peaceful nap in the corner, or appointing it as their group’s designated rendezvous point for the weekend.
It was wonderful to watch the WiFi Garden become woven into so many people’s festival experience.
One in three visitors returned more than once during the weekend. What started as a place to connect to the internet quickly became somewhere to reconnect with themselves, with friends and with the festival around them.
For us, that felt like a genuine reflection of what Little Green Rooms is all about. Festival-goers experienced what it feels like to have a Little Green Room, even if only for a few moments.
They found a little headspace.
Alongside the conversations, it was also a joy to see Little Green Rooms out in the wild. Our branded tote bags quickly became part of the festival landscape, carried from stage to stage throughout the weekend, while nearly 2500 people of the 40,000 visitors logged on and discovered our spaces for the very first time. WOMAD couldn’t have been a warmer introduction to events.
Thank you to WOMAD and everyone that stopped by to chat, chin a beer or just chill with us.
We’re already wondering where we might take our little corner of calm to next.
